The world as we see it today has evolved from basic commercial methods of selling products and services to a more advanced technology accessible by scanning a small screen in our hands. Our ways of reaching customers are no longer limited to a few miles of range from several businesses but could go thousand of miles through online marketing. But, can you imagine a world today without marketing on the web?

Online marketing takes to catching on with mobile

It was a sunny afternoon when I was in a rush looking for a nearby printing shop where I could scan a copy of my photo ID as an urgent requirement. My internet wasn't working and I had to walk a few miles while I asked for help from strangers on the lookout for a nearby printing shop in our area. If the internet was only available that it could've been easy to look for nearby shops to scan a photo that took hours for me to accomplish.


This realization gave me so much insight into what things could be like with the presence of the internet. I thought of the convenience brought by online marketing to a wide array of consumers who rely on faster processes to get transactions done.


What was before eCommerce?

Commerce in the past was made possible through means of goods transferred from one place to another. Trade of goods was by train, steamships, or trucks that businesses could market their products to other regions. There are trade fairs that serve as a better avenue to showcase products on makeshift stalls or display them on wooden pallets for everyone to appreciate.


But everything changed when eCommerce got introduced to the global market. Advanced technology made it possible to display products through the internet and thus, online marketing started as an alternative yet fast means to offer products to consumers.


What will happen without online marketing?

There is plenty of advanced technology these days that several creative ways can offer you options to introduce your service in the market thru the web. But, can you imagine how a business will function without online marketing?


Delayed Transactions

Numerous businesses will suffer from several delays without online marketing as transactions will get slow due to poor communication. The ability of a business to coordinate with local and international supply chain companies can be difficult for business owners as they might have to manually do things on pen and paper.


Loss of Profit

As there's no medium to introduce products on the global market, businesses will have a small reach and could eventually close down as limited markets are available for them. Also, there'll be fewer job opportunities available as business owners don't have any available money to provide for employees. Consumers will also have limited options due to the resources not being available from where raw materials originate.


Ban on Perishable Goods

Introducing perishable goods to the market can get slow thus limited transactions are provided. Local importers can get into innovative ways to make sure that perishable goods can still be available for consumption over a long period but there will have fewer products to sell due to limited marketing options.
